    Where’s Weird Al When You Need Him?

    Today’s poetry challenge actually kind of made me smile a bit. We’re to write a parody or satire of a favorite, or unfavorite, poem of the past. So, when I saw the word parody I immediately thought of Weird Al Yankovich. Wouldn’t you? The man made a fortune off of his parodies of songs. My personal favorite is still Eat It.     #JeSuisCharlie, Ahmed, & the World

    No pictures today. Just words. The last week has been rough, especially since the Paris shootings which took place this past Wednesday (also my son Jack’s tenth birthday). If you are not aware, the satirical newspaper office of Charlie Hebdo was attacked by gunmen who shot 12 specific unarmed people as well as an officer. The very next day there was another attack at a grocery store in east Paris. I’ve seen and read the reactions from people around the world, and it makes me feel a little bit of comfort that people are acknowledging the senselessness of this act of terrorism.
