    Beginning To Play Catch Up

Yet another post for today in an attempt to try and play catch up with NaPoWriMo. So, this would be Day 7’s prompt which was to write a tritina. (Click the link for an explanation.) It’s fairly simple. There’s no rhyme scheme or syllable length, which makes it seem easy to write, but it’s seeming simplicity is what makes it appear difficult. Truly, the only difficulty I had was in putting the sentences together to tell the story I see in my head. And now, I’m off to begin my day which is going to be ridiculously busy. Happy Friday everyone! xo Jesi   Hospital Waiting Rooms By Jesi Scott…

In Which I Write About Food…

For me, the only thing worse than thinking about food is writing about it. I’m not a foodie. Half the time I wish I didn’t have to bother with eating. What do I want to eat? What will my kids want to eat? How should we be eating? There are times when I seriously despise food. Yes, I am one of those “fortunate” people who stereotypically doesn’t have a problem with food. I don’t have food addictions. I used to be able to eat anything I wanted anytime I wanted. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have food issues. For me, eating has always been an issue because unless I’m…

    I Think I May Be On a Roll…not a Croissant

NaPoWriMo poem Day 5 prompt is an interesting one. Pick a seed name from a seed catalog and write a poem. NaPo’s site linked a couple of online catalogs to choose from but I’ve always purchased seeds from the Michigan Bulb Company. I must admit, I’ve always gotten a kick out of reading seed names. Like this one: Zoey Rey Giant Dahlia. Now, there’s a name for a ballad. But my eye fell on the Fire and Ice Dahlia Mix and my mind immediately quoted Robert Frost and I added my own verse.     Fire and Ice by Robert Frost Some say the world will end in fire, Some…

    “April Is The Cruelest Month”

The Day 4 prompt of National Poetry Writing Month was to write a poem about the cruelest month-what is the cruelest month to you and why? I really gave this a lot of thought because, truly, some months are harder to get through than others some years. And, some people (like AJ) have one month in particular every year that ties them onto the train tracks while it plays chicken with the oncoming engine. But what month is the cruelest month for me? I couldn’t decide. Generally speaking, I feel it depends on my attitude. Last year I would have to say it was December… or maybe this past…

    I Know, I Know…

I’m really behind. I’m so sorry. We’ve almost completed the move and hope to have the last things out next week. We’ve had very minor snags and everything seems to be going somewhat smoothly, but I will be giddy when this is all over. Packing and unpacking. Trying to make things fit. Sorting away those items that don’t have a new home in the new home…it’s exhausting. On top of it, there’s writing to be done and new schedules for the kids. Somehow, I’m managing to get things settled into a system. And at least the kitchen is unpacked and clean. You have no idea how happy that makes me.…

    Do You Have A Tardis?

I’m behind already. I knew I would be. You can’t multitask without one of the balls you’re juggling falling at some point. In my case I’ve had two fall. But that’s okay because they aren’t as important as the others and I can easily pick them back up again. I’m behind on my NaPoWriMo schedule and the nature photo challenge Lizzi tagged me on. If you follow me on Facebook you might be seeing lots of spring pictures showing up. The photo challenge would be why. It’s fun and gets me out of constant packing and moving and I’ve noticed I’m more relaxed when I do it. As for NaPo…I…

    I Fell For It…Again

I am so gullible. Naive even. I truly believed I wouldn’t fall for it, no matter what they did, no matter what they said. But my own nature betrayed me, so now it’s official. I have entered NaPoWriMo’s April Poetry challenge. My house is completely upside down right now. Chez Lunatic is indeed moving and half of my belongings, and my family’s, are in one place, and the rest in another. But I do have internet so I’m not completely off the grid, though it was a close thing let me tell ya. My two elder kids nearly lost it. I mean, seriously. If the Zombie Apocalypse happened today they…

I’ve got it!!! I know what my theme will be for my Blogging A to Z Challenge! I am going to combine my two challenges!!! Yes, I am doing TWO challenges for April. I am doing the Blogging A to Z challenge with CJ. She did it last year and it was a blast reading her posts. Especially since blogging every day is a challenge in itself for her. So, I’m happy to see her joining it again this year. I was supposed to be doing PoMoSco which is Poetry Month Scouts from The Found Poetry Review but I never received a confirmation email or anything from them.…
