    Oasis

No idea if anyone is seeing this but sending it out into the ether anyway. First new poem of 2018. Enjoy! She lived her life dessicated, An arid desert in the heat of summer… Dusty sand that scours raw the skin And the few crumbling brown plants, dead for lack of moisture. Then came the storms With drops that hissed and sizzled, And drowned the parched land Bringing life to the xeriscape, And hope bloomed in profusion.   00

Sometimes You Just Need To Hear The Words

Date: Today   My Darling Friend, I was reading a blog post today and something in it brought you so clearly to mind that I felt an overwhelming sense of urgency to connect with you. It’s been much too long a while since I’ve seen you or heard your voice so I thought I’d send you a little note to let you know I’m thinking about you. Life is so busy lately, what with the…

    Love Her As She Is

I know this amazing woman who has the most beautiful blue eyes I’ve ever seen. She says she has alien eyes but I think they’re rather gorgeous. And she has a voice that’s like warm honey. Sometimes, I don’t think she realizes how deeply her words touch people, and how, even in her dark moments, she still shines like a star. Because Lizzi calls her Sunset I’ve begun to think of her that way. Her spirit reminds me of the color of the sky as it turns from red to coral to pink to blue to indigo to ink. I don’t think you can pick one color out from her…

    For My British Wench

So, I’m just sitting down and pulling Tornado into my lap to rock him to sleep. My eye falls onto this very special card and poem that a Very Special Someone sent me. And as I’m thinking about Her, a line pops into my head. As it does so, a song begins playing on Pandora, which I turned on to help Tornado fall asleep. The song that plays could not speak any more plainly to remind me of my friend. And as soon as Tornado has fallen to sleep and been put into his bed, I began to write. I hope She likes it. <3 Jesi   The Diamond with…

“Of All The Hearts In The World…

…You had to walk into mine.” (Yes, I totally cribbed Casablanca.) Have you ever wondered why certain people come into your life? Of course, you have. I am a total believer in synchronicity. I believe that people come into your life for a reason (not that we always understand that reason). Sometimes they stay,  while others are there briefly and then leave like the darkness when a light is turned on. What did those visitors to your life receive from their limited stay? What part were you gifted (yes, it was a gift) to play in their lives? For some, the relationship took time to develop. Time, and care, and…
