    It Takes a Big Man…

It takes a lot to admit you’re wrong, but it takes even more to admit to your faults. One of mine is that I am very sensitive to being told I’m not responsible or that I am a bad parent. Don’t tell me I’m either because unless you are around me and my kids 100% of the time you have no idea whether I am a good parent or not, or if I’m completely irresponsible. If you see one moment out of thousands of moments, does that even give you the right to judge me on it? Maybe. Maybe not. But what if you are around me and my kids…

    I’m A Well-Tempered Bard

For my birthday, Lizzi gave me the best birthday present…she made me a bard over at her poetry blog! So, today I posted my first poem there. You should go check it out. 😉 In other news, there is no other news. I had what felt like a very long weekend. I began and finished reading a good book (Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige), continued working on knitting a shawl (not as old-fashioned as you may think), went to a Drum and Bugle Corps performance, and drank copious amounts of tea because allergies. Oh, and I also had an idea for a story about a carnival and an…

    “April Is The Cruelest Month”

The Day 4 prompt of National Poetry Writing Month was to write a poem about the cruelest month-what is the cruelest month to you and why? I really gave this a lot of thought because, truly, some months are harder to get through than others some years. And, some people (like AJ) have one month in particular every year that ties them onto the train tracks while it plays chicken with the oncoming engine. But what month is the cruelest month for me? I couldn’t decide. Generally speaking, I feel it depends on my attitude. Last year I would have to say it was December… or maybe this past…

    Do You Have A Tardis?

I’m behind already. I knew I would be. You can’t multitask without one of the balls you’re juggling falling at some point. In my case I’ve had two fall. But that’s okay because they aren’t as important as the others and I can easily pick them back up again. I’m behind on my NaPoWriMo schedule and the nature photo challenge Lizzi tagged me on. If you follow me on Facebook you might be seeing lots of spring pictures showing up. The photo challenge would be why. It’s fun and gets me out of constant packing and moving and I’ve noticed I’m more relaxed when I do it. As for NaPo…I…

Inspiration Strikes When You Least Expect It

I’m working on a new project. I’m excited! I can’t wait to see how this goes. Or how far. Kind of curious to see if I can pull this off. Character names are going to change later so I don’t have to keep them straight. For now, enjoy a snippet of what I hope to make the first chapter. xo Jesi   Snippet from I Love You All the Same by Jesi Scott   Beth thought it was a heart attack. Denise pronounced it a definite stroke. Their predictions didn’t matter to me, really; the causation was the issue, and both my sisters and I knew the fault was mine.…

    The Fickle Muse

Happy Monday everyone. I am stuck in my house today. Winter has finally arrived in Texas. I awoke around four this morning to ice and sleet and a little bit of snow cracking on my windowpanes. I do believe I am a captive in my house for the next few days…or at least until I get bored and decide I really need to get away from my kids who will have managed to drive me crying into my closet (the one with the padded walls, necessary food and wine products, and the soundproof walls) by tomorrow. Ice day today means no school, and it’s very likely that school will be…

    Reblogged From For Love Of…

From my friend Amber’s blog:   We are just right… There seems to be a theme going on lately. I am not sure what is going on, but it is maddening! First it started with a conversation with my mom that broke my heart. Then yesterday, I came across three blog posts by three different beautiful women and it had me pissed off. It’s not a secret in life that most of us are not 100% happy with ourselves. If given a free pass to change anything about our bodies, I am sure each of us could without a blink of an eye come up with several different things we would…

    Happy Blogiversary and Merry Christmas

Yesterday was my 1 year blogiversary. It’s hard to believe that I’ve been blogging that long. It doesn’t seem like it’s already been a year. And, like time does when you’re having fun, it flew by so fast. It has been a pleasure writing and sharing my life and my writings with you all. I look forward to this next year so much, and am excited with all the new possibilities that this year opened up for me. There are good things in store for 2015, and it’s going to be a blast! I hope you stick around for it. I know it’s Christmas and you have better things to…

    A New Beginning For Him

Today is the day I have always held in my heart with a little fear, concern, and a lot of apprehension. It came too soon, and while I’ve always known it would come, I’m still not prepared. But I don’t think I ever would have been. Today, my oldest son is 18, a legal adult, and still one of the loves of my life. I won’t get to spend it with him, unfortunately. But what mom does not let that stop her from wishing him all the love in her heart on this special day? I started at midnight texting him birthday memes, and have continued throughout the day. And…

    Still Here

Hi everyone! I just wanted to post a short note to let you all know that I am actually here. I did make it back home in one piece but have been busy ever since. Why is it that you take a vacation to get a rest but then you need to rest from your vacation? I had a lovely time in Chicago, and I still think I could live there very easily if I didn’t mind the taste of the water or the fact that my allergies were a nightmare all weekend. That, plus the cost of living there is higher than here in Dallas. Anyway, this week has…
