It’s All Amber’s Fault

I have finally figured it out. Amber is going to force me to success if it kills both of us. I just know it. It’s Day 5 of NaNoWriMo and I have almost 8,000 words so far. I worked hard yesterday to reach my 16k word goal, but I did it. And if I hadn’t been about to fall asleep on my keyboard, I would have kept going. I was lucky to reach that goal, too. Especially when I deliberately procrastinated by texting Amber about what Draco had done to Anna’s twin brother. Oh yeah!!! Anna has a twin brother, Alex, and…well, I can’t tell you what happened. You have to wait. But it’s sooo good. Or it will be when the scene is finished. So, okay. I texted Amber about that and how I now have a playlist for Draco and Anna on Spotify. Then, she texted back about not being able to find me on Spotify to follow me…and well, the next hour was spent trying to find each other on Spotify. (By the way, Spotify, you need to fix that because it sucks.)

Amber and I get into a lot of trouble at writing group, sometimes. But, we’re fun. Which is sooo odd because we’re like total opposites. But I LOVE her. She cracks me up, and I have a serious lack of fun (in a grown-up way, I mean) in my life right now. Honestly, everyone needs an Amber. She’s inspired me, too. She keeps getting sent motivational pics for NaNo and posting them on her blog. So, this morning I got online and found one to send to her. Why not? And then I just spent 15 minutes looking up writing memes. (Writers know how to procrastinate better than anyone!) And I thought I’d share a few of my favorites on my blog today. Especially since I have nothing better to discuss, and I REALLY must get some housework in before I get back to work. Draco and Anna and Alex are waiting.

Oh, and did I mention, I’m writing backwards? Yeah, apparently this book has decided to begin with the ending and work itself back to the beginning. Whatever works, right? And if you’d like to look me up on Spotify (it should work now) I’m peaseblossym. Hope you’re having a great Wednesday!

Jesi Kay, poet and aspiring novelist, was born in the Texas panhandle where wide skies, lazy summer days, and rolling thunderstorms sparked her imagination and left lasting memories in her blood. An early reader, poetry and mythology were her passions. So much so that when she was ten years old her step-father gave her his college mythology textbooks to read, which were full of classic poetry and more than enough tales to fill her romantic and inquisitive nature. Jesi loves reading, art, going to the theater, the romanticism of the Victorian era (but not the missing conveniences of indoor plumbing and central air conditioning), running when the heat and humidity cooperate, and cold weather so she can wear her favorite boots and knitwear. Also, she still has those college mythology textbooks, a little worse for wear over time but still intact and telling their stories to her. Jesi is a contributor at The Well Tempered Bards blog and at www.octpowrimo.com.

I love all those memes. That’s cool to have a friend like that. I have my ending, too. Now I just have to write what happens to cause such an ending. Thank you for sharing (:

Yay! I’m not the only one working backwards then. LOL
I really am. I wrote what I thought would be the first chapter of this book only to realize that it was a great ending and leads right into the next book. And then when I started writing a few days ago, I realized I was writing a scene that will take place a chapter or two before the ending chapter. LOL
So, I’m glad to know I’m not alone in how this is working out. 🙂

Oh, you missed it this past Sunday! I was so proud of Amber. She was in rare form. It was fun! Definitely need another movie night! And, uuhmmmm. yes. Thought you’d like that. 😉
The things I do for my girls…such a hardship. Le sigh.

Castle’s WRITER vest cracks my Accomplice and I up every time. It’s like announcing, IN WRITING, that he’s the one guy without a gun or combat training…

And yet, somehow, I want me one…! =D

I started at the beginning. I’ll meet you somewhere in the middle, OK? I’ll be the one following the Vulcan in the opposite direction….

The first time I saw that vest I laughed so hard I fell on the floor! I LOVE Castle. And that is EXACTLY what he’s advertising and I love it. It’s like saying “I’m the red shirt; kill me first!” LOL
      And I want one, too!
I’m following a half-elf, so we’ll try to keep up with our pointy-eared beasties and I’ll see ya when we get there! 🙂
